Cheryl may be the friendliest supermarket cashier in Toronto.  Always smiling, laughing, chatting behind her till at the grocery store I frequent at Kipling & Dixon in the west end, it’s actually fun being in her line.  Except…today was different.  You see, Cheryl is from St. Kitts.  She has family in Saint Martin.  And they have lost everything.  They’re fine, but their home, belongings, everything…is gone.  Cheryl told me she spent the last two days crying.  Coming from someone who is usually so cheerful was heartbreaking…and served to bring the events of the past week home.  If you would like to help in the relief efforts in the wake of Irma, The Canadian Red Cross is where to turn.  Thank-you.
