In case you haven’t heard, fall is a great time of year to take a drive around Ontario.

There are lots of great drives in the Ontario area, and Muskoka is truly a driver’s paradise this time of year. Driving the winding roads while you take in the fall foliage is a truly spectacular experience.

And if you’re in the area for the weekend, make sure you stop at the must-see spots in Muskoka. To help you with that, the Township of Muskoka Lakes has created the “View the Lakes Muskoka Chair Tour” – a self-guided tour that highlights the top views across the Muskoka Lakes! They’ve scattered 10 unique Muskoka Chairs across the region, each of which mark a must-see spot in the area.

Here are just a few of the spots where you can kick back, relax, and take in the view:

Huckleberry Rock Lookout

Huckleberry Rock has been well known locally for over 100 years as a wonderful scenic lookout. Rocks on this trail are some of the oldest in the world, well over a billion years old. The view from here is a must-see.

Here’s a tip: to get the most out of your experience, plan your trip when the fall colours are at their best. The specific dates change from year to year based on a number of factors, but here are some general timeframes to consider:

  • Early fall colour viewing opportunities: September 24 – September 30
  • Peak maple fall colour viewing opportunities: October 1 – October 12
  • Peak golden encore fall colour viewing opportunities: October 13 – 21

Wherever your adventure takes you, make sure you’re equipped with the right gear. Visit your local SAIL store for all your outdoor needs.
