The weather will finally be catching up to the season this weekend with double-digit temperatures expected. It’s supposed to be a beautiful Saturday for you to get out and enjoy the weather, but on Sunday with rain in the forecast, there is lots to enjoy indoors as well.

Last home game for the Toronto Raptors

While they will be heading into the playoffs for the sixth year in a row, this Sunday is their last home game of the season. The Toronto Raptors will be taking on the Miami Heat in an afternoon match-up at Scotiabank Arena. The Raps clinched the 2nd seed in the Eastern conference on Monday, but their first-round play-off opponent is still up in the air. Tickets are still available on Ticketmaster.

Giro D’Italia

The annual Toronto food festival, Giro D’Italia, is back to bring you the best-of-the-best Italian food in the city. Twenty of Toronto’s top Italian restaurants will be celebrating with special menus representing different regions in Italy. The festival started Thursday and runs until April 14. Reservations are now available on their website.

The Baby Show Spring 2019

Expecting and new parents alike will be headed down to the Enercare Centre this weekend for The Baby Show. Vendors and leading parenting experts will be there for seminars, demos and workshops that will help with guiding you through pregnancy, adjusting to life with a new baby and parenting toddlers. There is something for parents of kids of any age. The show runs on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Hall B at the Enercare Centre. Tickets can be bought online or at the door.

Toronto Arrows first home game 

The Toronto Arrows Rugby Football Club will play their first official home game this Sunday. The Arrows are Canada’s first professional rugby union team. They were added to Major League Rugby for the 2019 season. They will kick off their home schedule against the Nola Gold Rugby team. Game time is 2 p.m. on Sunday at York Alumni Stadium.

TTC Service

Partial closures on Line 1 and 2
Heads up for subway riders: There is another closure this weekend. There will be no subway service on Line 1 between Lawrence and St. Clair stations on April 6th. It’s so crews can continue the installation of the new Automatic Train Control signalling system. Shuttle buses will operate during the closure.
Also this weekend, subway service on Line 2 between St. George and Broadview stations will start at noon for beam replacement work on the Prince Edward Viaduct. Regular subway service is scheduled to resume Monday morning.
