Queen Elizabeth celebrated her 90th birthday on Saturday.  Truth be told her actual birthday is in April. But, in that perfectly pragmatic British way, back in the 1800s it was decided the celebration would always take place in June.  To ensure good weather!  In Toronto the event was marked with a proper afternoon tea at the Royal York Hotel, featuring the Queen’s favourite tipple, a gin & Dubonnet, which she apparently enjoys everyday at 2pm.  With pinkie extended, I’m sure. :) The Telegraph newspaper in the U.K. has video highlights of the celebration, and a great compilation photos: 90 pics that span Her Majesty’s 90 years .
