leafs

…but Shanny’s sure that next year?  No more Mr. Nice Guy.

The Leafs’ loss Saturday night meant they would finish dead last in the NHL this season.  The worst team in the league.  Now on most nights, they didn’t play like the worst team in the league; far from it.  There was hard work, structure, a system, and more one-goal losses than you can remember.  Next year should be different:  the young stars are more experienced; the draft should yield some quality; and maybe a free agent or two becomes part of the mix.  Brendan Shanahan spoke to Sportsnet with his thoughts on the season that was and the one that’s ahead.

Did this season give you hope for the future?
