At last night’s Canadian Screen Awards, host Norm MacDonald suggested the award should have a ‘name’ and be called ‘The Candy’ as a tribute to late comic John Candy. He asked all presenters and those coming up to the mic disregard what was written on the teleprompter and on the envelope and call it The Candy. 9 year old Jacob Tremblay was the first to say “and the Candy goes to…” (Jacob won the candy for Actor in Lead Role for his performance in the film ‘ROOM’)
