It was 25-years ago today, that the movie “Pretty Woman” opened at the box office.  The movie with Richard Gere & Julia Roberts is still considered one of the most romantic movies of all time.  It had a budget of $14 million and grossed over $463 million at the box office!

According to Wikipedia:

“Director Gary Marshall had initially considered Christopher Reeve, Daniel Day-Lewis, and Denzel Washington for the role of “Lewis”, and Al Pacino turned it down as well.

According to a note written by Gary Marshall, Mary Steenburgen was the first choice to play Vivian. Michelle Pfeiffer turned the role down as well, because she did not like the “tone” of the script.”
